Nothing Gold can stay by Robert Frost

In the the poem " Nothing Gold can stay " by Robert Frost. before reading  this poem , I thaught is going to be about  how worthy  gold is and its value. Instead , on my own understanding, the author talks about how  valuable things  do not last for long  and how nature is first gold ,then green. what i like the most , it is when the author say "Her early leaf's a flower; But only so an hour"which mean the golden flowers don't stick around for long, they turn green and become leaves. I will recommend it to a friend so she/he can understand that he/she should hold on too much to any good thing  because it is not going to last for long.
