"Oedipus the King" by Sophocles

In the play"Oedipus the King", Sophocles talk more about tragedies of destiny and before reading it , I had expexted a lovely story about the king  and his kingdom. Instead ,the play is full of unfortunate suprising facts. what i liked the most it is how the plot  in every different way is convincing and making the audience believe that no one can escape his/her fate. I would recommend it to a friend , because it is talking about real like and what happened to Oedipus can happen to anyone.

" Out - Out" by Robert Frost

"Out -Out " is a poem by Robert Frost .  Before  reading it , I honestly  had no idea  of what it is about, I had not expected any especific thing. What I liked the least is at  the end of the poem "No one believed. They listened at his heart.Little—less—nothing!—and that ended it" when the young man  after begging his sister not to allowed the  doctor cut his hand off , died under anesthesia , and everybody goes back to work . I personnaly like when poem is about happyness, life and joy. I would not  recommend to a friend , because it is too sad and sorrowful.

"CATHEDRAL" by Raymond Carver

"Cathedral" is a short story by Raymond Carver. Before reading this story , i had expected  a whole description of a cathedral, but it was more interesting when I discovered there is more to it .What I like the most is the ironic way that the author shows  that  one’s sense of vision does not necessarily grant them into the inside. That is the case of the narrator who has both eyes and a blind man(Robert).  I will definitely recommend to a friend ,because the story is very educative and interesting.

"The Storm" by Kate Chopin

"The Storm " is a  short history by kate Chopin . Before reading this poem , i was excepting it to be  all about the Storm ( the causes ,  how it affect people life and so on ...), but  I disappointed when after reading I realised that it about was love story instead. The part , i like the most is at the end when the author says  "So the storm passed and every one was happy."   I also like the message she is passing which is in relationship , what you don't know does not affect you , because Bobinôt did not know about his wife affaire with her  former lover Alcée,therefore  every one is happy  and he does not have problem with his wife. who knows what would have happened he knew about it ??. I will definitly recommend it to a friend , so she/he can also learn the lesson .

Nothing Gold can stay by Robert Frost

In the the poem " Nothing Gold can stay " by Robert Frost. before reading  this poem , I thaught is going to be about  how worthy  gold is and its value. Instead , on my own understanding, the author talks about how  valuable things  do not last for long  and how nature is first gold ,then green. what i like the most , it is when the author say "Her early leaf's a flower; But only so an hour"which mean the golden flowers don't stick around for long, they turn green and become leaves. I will recommend it to a friend so she/he can understand that he/she should hold on too much to any good thing  because it is not going to last for long.

"Cenderella"by Anna sexton

In this poem "cenderella " Anna sexton shows another sight of a Fairy tales. Before reading it , i was expected ,the story to be all nice, beautiful, full of imagintion and charming like any other fairy tales, but i was suprised when I noticed he the author uses  violent ,bloody descriptions, and Grimm. what  I liked  the most about the story it is the way Sexton uses sarcasm ans similes insead of happy and extraordinary description in the story, which make her story  not only different than others fairy tale but  also more realistic to me.I would like to recommend it to a friend so she can  enjoy the a style of a Fairy tales and realize that Fairy tales don't  have to be extraordinary and full of imagination  all the time .

"Medusa " by Louise Bogan

"Medusa" is a poem by Louise Bogan , before reading it , I was expecting the real story of Medusa herself(how and why she was cursed ).Unfortunatly, it was about  the narrathor of the story, who after looked at medusa turns into stone and lifeless .What i like the least about the work , how it ended , most of the time , they return back to their normal life ( from a stone  return back into human being after looking at Medusa ),but the narathor did not . Even though I am slightly confused on the meaning of the poem i would still recommend  it to a friend , so she can enjoy the different literature devices Bogan uses in the poem.

"Ask me" by William Stafford

"Ask me"    it is title of a short poem wrote by  William Stafford. Before read the poem, I had expected the author give  answers to particular questions asked by the readers. What I like the most is how Stafford actually consider himself as the river ( which is path of the nature) by saying "What the river says, that is what I say". I would recommend this poem to  a friend because  I found it  very interesting. Also it is educative and related to  human being's life and nature. It also shows how  nature has the answers of questions that human beings can't answer.

The Yellow Wallpaper, by Charlotte Perkins Gilman

" The Yellow Wallpaper" by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, this text is exactly , what I thought  about  before reading it , yellow paper on a wall. what  i liked the most about the story is at the end, when the narrator finally teared  the yellow wallpaper in order to free the trapped woman which is  symbolize as  her own freedom. I really don't like the tone Gilman used ,because it sounded as if the narrator herself was crazy.  I would recommend it to a friend because it is very  interesting  and  also talk about women's physical and mental health in the 19th century.

"Rose for Emily" by William Faulkner

Before reading the text, i was expecting  a love story in which a rose was given to Emily. I was really disappointed  when i discovered that is was about  "lack of love ". what i liked the least about the story it is when Emily killed Homer Barron,  kept and slept with  his death body for so long time. I would not recommend this text to friend because it all about death, loneliness, depression and things of that nature, which i don't like.
